Mombacho curiosities

During its existence the volcano had suffered many collapses which modified its structure. Now it has got two big craters lock-shaped created by the collapse of its walls, which destroyed the cone in the North-East and South part.

There is also scientific laboratory and a small museum on it. From this place it is possible to make tracking on different paths which border the most important crater that is now completely covered by the vegetation.

On the paths you can find holes from which hot vapour still comes out. You can stop in the panoramic point to admire the Cocibolca lake and the town of Granada.

The fauna and the flora of this particular place are very interesting and original.
